Bears vs Stingrays Game Recap

Bears 10 runs in sixth lifts them past Stingrays 12-0

A 10-run explosion in the sixth inning helped lift the Bartram Trail Bears to a 12-0 win in six innings over the Atlantic Coast Stingrays Saturday.

The Bears got their first run of the game with two outs in the first inning.  Blake Marabell singled home Jon Cassala after Cassala doubled off the left field wall. The Bears would add another run in second inning after Jacob Lovelace led off with a single to left.  Joe Hoelle laid down a sacrifice bunt to move Lovelace to second. Lovelace would steal third and score on a Jared Nourse ground ball to third base. The Bears would not score another run until the top of the sixth when the Bears exploded for 10 runs on seven hits.

The Bears had five players record multiple hits in the game (Lovelace 3, Ledford 2, Cassala J. 2, Marabell 2, Murphy 2).  The Bears also had seven hitters drive in a run ( Cassala M, Ledford, Marabell, Murphy, Lovelace, Hoelle, Lovelace, Nourse)

Jarrod Davenport and Mike Cassala combined for the shutout. Davenport earned the win going four innings, scattering four hits, fanning two and walking one. Cassala did not allow a runner to reach base in two innings and struck out five Stingray hitters.

The Bears return to action on Monday at Home against Oakleaf High School. Game time is set for 6:00 PM.
