Knights vs Bears Game Recap

Bears win in walk off in 7th

Box Score

Joe Hoelle probably hopes that every outing could go as well as it did Monday night when the Bartram Trail Bears took on the Oakleaf Knights. The Bears defense was perfect, committing  no errors while  Hoelle only surrendered three hits. The Knights would get a runner to second base as Schmidt would double to left field, but that would be the only time and the furthest a Knight runner would reach. Hoelle would get the win throwing a complete game, giving up no walks and ringing up seven of the Knights hitters.

As the scoreless game went into the 7th, the Bears found themselves looking for a base hit to push a run across. The Bears would get that from their second hitter of the inning as Jon Cassala drove a 0-1 fastball deep into the right centerfield gap. Cassala would be replaced by pinch runner Connor Miller. The Bears would get exactly what they were hoping for as Blake Marabell drove the first pitch of his at bat down the left field line for a walk off double. With that win, the Bears improve to 5-0 on the season as the begin district play on Wednesday when they host Nease High School. Game time is set for 6:00 PM.
