Leadership Development Requirement (LDR) teams are AFJROTC extracurricular teams that help build skills outside the classroom. Our most popular are Raiders and Drill: Raiders focuses on fitness, while Drill focuses on marching. There are more that fit students’ interest.
Chili Cook-Off is our first major event of the year, featuring a chili contest, pumpkin carving contest, and raffle baskets. We also hold our first Change of Command ceremony.
Bartrams AFJROTC program has atleast two field trips throughout the school year. One of our most popular is our annual trip to Camp Blanding, where cadets stay on a military base for a weekend and participate in an obstacle course, Polar Plunge, and various activity stations. We also offer the Cadet in Action (CIA) field trip, which is centered what we are learning that year.
Military Ball is the event cadets look foward to the most. It is a formal AFJROTC event where cadets dress in formal attire or their uniforms and enjoy an evening of dinner, dancing, and other activities. It is a chance for cadets to socialize and celebrate the unit. The award ceremony and second change of comman happen.
Unit inspection is what our instructors and cadets work towards the whole year. AFJROTC headquarters assesses our whole unit and decides whether we meet/ exceed standards or not.
