 The 2025-2026 NHS Application will open in January. 

FYI:

Essay Prompt: Each essay response must be 100 -150 words, typed and double spaced. Your essay should be thoughtful and written in a descriptive style. Please choose two of the following prompts and include your name and student number at the top of the page.  IE: 200-300 words for the two essays combined.

  • Why are you a good candidate for National Honor Society?
  • Write about a specific time you exemplified leadership and what you learned from it.
  • Explain in detail how you would carry out a specific service project to benefit our community.

 

 

For your information:

NHS Application and Membership Requirements are as follows:

First Time applicants may be: rising Sophomore, Junior or Senior.

To apply for NHS you will need minimum or 3.75 Weighted GPA and 30 Service Hours completed during the current school year.   

If a student does not qualify for NHS they will receive a notice of explanation.

The Mandatory Induction Ceremony to be held April 21, 2025 @ 6:30pm in the BTHS Auditorium

Dues for new members will be $35 due September 2025 via School Pay Link.

Returning Members need not apply; simply meet the membership requirements each year after initial acceptance.  However there is a yearly contract to sign, and yearly dues / fees.

Requirements include:

Maintaining a 3.75 GPA

Completion of 25 service hours throughout the school year, 5 of these hours must be earned by participating  NHS service projects. Service projects can be found on our Schoology page, NHS Instagram page and Remind. We also ask that you participate in at least one social event.

Attending a minimum of 6 meetings per school year. (This also applies to D.E. students.)

Payment of Dues: $30 for returning members – due September 2025.

 

(Your dues help pay for 8 morning meeting breakfasts for 260 students, membership fees to NHS National, Supplies for school wide projects and so much more.)

 

All meetings are held the first Friday of the month unless otherwise noted **. 

Mark your calendars and set reminders!!! You are expected to be there.

Meeting Location: Small Cafeteria

Meeting Time: 8:30 – 9:10 – Meetings Begin Promptly at 8:45am. No admittance after start time.

The gate by the Auditorium will be manned by NHS officer to provide access.
